What to bring to a sports camp

You will need

  • A refillable water bottle (not containing anything fizzy), a snack for break and a lunch that does not contain nuts or egg.

  • A change of clothes and a towel.

  • Sun cream, when applicable.

  • Wear clothing suitable for both indoor and outdoor activities, including a jumper and a raincoat.

  • Bring a water pistol or nerf gun, only if you already have one, on applicable days - parents and carer will be made aware in advance of the days when water fights and nerf wars will take place.  We do however have some water pistols and nerf guns available for use.

You won't need

  • A mobile phone.  Mobiles must not be brought to, or used, on camp. Where a parent or carer deems a mobile phone necessary, it must be kept in a child's bag until the end of the day.

  • Valuables, such as expensive watches and non-essential jewellery.

Sports Camp - Frequently Asked Questions

Do you provide food & drink at camp?

No we do not provide food or drink, other than fresh tap water for children to refill their water bottles. As well as a refillable water bottle with their name on it, children must bring a nut and egg free snack for break time and packed lunch.  PLEASE NOTE - we are a nut and egg free camp, as there are children attending who are highly allergic to nuts and eggs.

Can my child choose the activities they take part in at camp?

Unfortunately children cannot choose the activities they take part in.  However, we deliberately tailor our activities to your child's age, ability and interests in order to develop their skill level, self-confidence and resilience.  Daily programmes are structured to bring the best out of every child and are timetabled to make the most of the facilities and of course, the weather. Our experienced teachers know exactly how to ensure children on camp get active whilst having lots of fun!

Will my child be grouped with their friends?

Many, if not most, children arrive at our camps not knowing the other children who are attending.  We will do our best to accommodate friend requests made at the point of booking, however, we find that developing new friendships is all part of the fun of attending a Kids' All Star Sports camp.

What age does my child need to be to attend a camp?

Our sports camps are suitable for children aged between 5 and 12 years of age.

How do I book and pay for my child to attend a sports camp?

To book onto one of our sports camps all you need to do is complete the booking form, which can be found on the 'Sports Camps' tab of our website.  Once you have completed your booking form will then send you an invoice within 48 hours, which must then be paid within 7 days of receiving in order to secure your child's place.

The weather forecast is looking bad, will the sports camp still go ahead?

Our camps run in all weathers, unless we deem the running of the camp to be unsafe due to extreme weather conditions.  If the weather is particularly poor, for example heavy and persistent rain, indoor facilities will be used.  Please pack your child a change of clothes, a raincoat and a towel in the event that they do get wet or overly dirty.

What time should I drop my child off and collect them from a sports camp?

Camp check in is from 09:00, with sports sessions starting at 09:30.  However, early drop off, at an additional cost, is available from 08:15.

An Awards Ceremony takes place daily at 15:15, which parents and carers are welcome to attend.  Camp then finishes at 15:30.  However, late collection, at an additional cost, is available until 16:30.

How do I claim lost property at a sports camp?

We will display lost property at the end of each day in full view of parents and carers, so that it an easily be seen and collected.

Please label clothing, drinks bottles and lunch boxes, it is surprising how easily children leave their possessions lying around!

What should I do if I am running late or need to pick up my child early from camp?

If you need to drop your child off later than 09:30, this is no issue.  Our check-in desk will be closed, so instead please call us on 07395 939581 and we will come and meet you.  If you are running late at the end of the day and won't make collection time, again please call us on 07395 939581.

If you need to collect your child early, for example for a doctors appointment, please let us know at the time of drop-off so that we can have your child ready for you to collect on time.  Alternatively, if this is a last minute change please call us on 07395 939581.

Can I contact my child when they are at camp?

If you need to contact your child whilst they are at camp, please call us on 07395 939581 and we will either pass on a message or put them on the phone to speak to you.

What should I do if my child is sick or unable to attend a sports camp?

If your child is sick and too unwell to attend camp, please email us at info@kidsallstarsports.com to let us know.  We will then also be able to advise you on the best time for your child to return to camp to prevent other children from becoming ill.

Can I make changes to my sports camp booking?

Yes, you can make changes to your booking, provided that there is a minimum of 72 hours before your child’s first day and that we have availability on the alternative day/s that you would like.  To request changes to your booking please email us at info@kidsallstarsorts.com.

Refunds cannot be guaranteed without 30 days notice.  However, we are more than happy to offer your child an alternative date where possible.

My child has a nut allergy and I am worried whether they will be at risk whilst at camp

All of our camps are ‘Nut and Egg Free’, meaning we do not allow nuts of any kind and egg onto camp.  Please speak to our staff if your child requires an EpiPen.

I have made a sport camp booking but the camp is cancelled, will I receive a full refund?

If a camp has to be cancelled due to extreme weather conditions, or circumstances outside of our control, you will receive a full refund.  Following any such cancellation, we will email you with details of how and when you will be refunded.

What happens if my child has an accident?

Every sports camp has at least one qualified member of staff who is first aid trained and will, should your child be involved in an accident, make an assessment of the injury, deliver first aid as required and ensure that your child is OK.  An accident form will be completed detailing exactly what happened and the action taken.  This will be shared with you when you collect your child.  Bumps and scrapes happen from time to time, however, if a more serious incident or accident occurs, we will contact you and the emergency services, if required, immediately.

Can I have a refund if my child has to isolate due to Covid-19?

At Kids' All Star Sports we have an 'exchange only' policy if you have to cancel your booking due Covid-19 or requirements to self isolate. This means that although we won't be able to refund the money, we can transfer your booking onto one of our subsequent three camps free of charge.
